Use the MORE TH>N DRIVE app to see how safe a driver you are. The safest drivers can earn a discount of up to 20%* off their insurance with MORE TH>N (no minimum premium requirements).
How Does It Work?
MORE TH>N DRIVE is a free app that is designed to use the GPS features within your phone to provide information around your driving.
The App will record details around your journeys over a 200 mile period. If you prefer, the App can even record your journeys for you automatically. We will give you a personalised score out of 100 (100 being the safest). Along the way we will let you know how you are doing and give you some help in knowing where you can improve to get your score as high as possible.
To make it a little more interesting you can earn badges as you go and post them to Facebook and Twitter to share with your friends. MORE TH>N DRIVE also lets you invite your friends and family to join you so that you can compare your scores against each other. We will even show you where you rank in your county and the country. Will you make it to the top of the rankings? Are you the safest driver in your household?
Things to know
To get the best results it is important that you have a strong GPS signal and the phone is as secure as possible. Ideally place your phone in a cradle. If you don’t have one then find the most secure position you can in the car. Avoid leaving your phone in your bag or pocket if possible as this could make the readings less reliable. To give you the best possible scores we will ignore journeys where the recording was unreliable so it is possible you may travel more miles than are recorded.
Using GPS can use more battery than standard use. Try and have a full battery if you are planning a long journey and don’t have a charger in the car.
Not everyone will get a discount. You will need a score of more than 40%. However we will never penalise anyone who gets a low score. MORE TH>N will still offer our normal competitive price, subject to the usual eligibility criteria.
We will treat your data with the same high standard that MORE TH>N adheres to. We will use the data to understand your driving and potentially give you a discount. We might also use the data within our wider organisation within the RSA Group of companies to help develop new insurance products and services or to adjust our pricing for all of our customers.
* Subject to eligibility. Score higher than 80% to get our maximum discount of 20%, between 61-80% to get a discount of 10% and 41%-60% for a discount of 5%.
